Notes for leaders

Walked clockwise, the Bobo River is a good morning tea stop, however if walking counter-clockwise in summer you could have lunch and a swim.  Carter Fire Trail is steep, and best walked uphill (clockwise).  The Dorrigo plateau can be very chilly in winter, but this is a cool shady walk in summer.  There is a lovely spot on the railway line following the mountain bike tracks were two mossy fallen logs make nice seats for a lunch stop (clockwise walk).  Most of the time you will be on old roads, so this is a nice social walk side by side having a good chit-chat!

GPX file with waypoints  in AllTrails (follow Coffs Hikers).  Marked this as sensitive trail info as the railway corridor is technically private property, and wouldn’t want hoons to be trashing that gorgeous water hole on the Bobo either.

See also Briggsvale, Lloyds Siding, Brooklana for a variation of this route, and more MTB tracks around the railway line that we found on that trip.

Note the Ulong cafe is not open weekend afternoons, so coffee and cake after your walk midweek only.
